Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok started its operation on 6 July, 1998 to replace the old airport at Kai Tak. Three bus companies operate franchised public airport bus services between the airport and various places in the region. They are Long Win Bus, Citybus and New Lantao Bus.
Long Win Bus is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kowloon Motor Bus. The company operates 5 airport bus routes for the New Territories. Normally, Dennis Tridents, an Alexander Dennis Enviro500 and a Volvo B9TL of 'Airport Coach' version are allocated. The buses, however, share the name of 'Airbus' with those serving North Lantau External Routes (The 'E' Routes) and Airport Shuttle Routes (The 'S' Routes). Citybus operates 5 airport bus routes for Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Dennis Trident and MAN NL262 buses of 'Airport Coach' version are designated for the routes. Airport bus service provided by Citybus is named 'Cityflyer'. A speical 'Yellow and Red' identity is used to promote the service. New Lantao Bus operates one airport bus route, A35, for Lantau Island. It is the only airport bus route that serves Tung Chung and supporting areas of the airport. Different types of single-deck buses are allocated. Photographs are available for each route. Please click on the following links for the photographs of the routes. |
